Many of my recent paintings focus on trees in the landscape. I continue to be fascinated by trees...they are ever present in the landscape; often taken for granted. Hosting a variety of shapes, form and colour; they change with the seasons, with the light, with the weather. Sometimes powerful and menacing, sometimes soft and airy. Our recent experience with high winds in our community remind us of the power and force of nature and the vulnerability of the trees against that power.
This painting is highly textured, I love texture. I used a pallet knife to apply the paint.
